Role Purpose:
The incumbent is responsible for providing procurement expertise and assisting stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organizational and business objectives. Also, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining good relations with the suppliers, following up and chasing orders placed to ensure delivery on time to the end user.
Accountabilities:
- Effectively execute the vendor scouting process, to onboard competent suppliers.
- Execute the sourcing strategy for different categories.
- Execute the sourcing process for a diverse range of categories, such as automotive spare parts & services, facilities management goods & services, and operations tools & consumables.
- Professionally coordinate and oversee designated procurement categories by leveraging key components such as Material Master, Service Master, Vendor Master, Contracts, and meticulous planning and forecasting.
- Craft Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs), ensuring comprehensive and clear documentation of procurement requirements.
- Screen and compare technical proposals, assessing their alignment with project objectives and technical specifications.
- Manage supplier relationships to foster collaboration, performance improvement, and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Implement supplier performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives to drive supplier excellence.
- Support demand planning and budgeting by providing accurate forecasts, identifying potential supply chain disruptions, and developing contingency plans.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis, should-cost analysis, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) assessments to support strategic decision-making and cost optimization.
- Identify and assess procurement risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Implement sustainable procurement practices and integrate environmental aspects into procurement decisions.
- Utilize conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques to address disputes or issues that may arise during the procurement process.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor of science degree in Logistics, Business Administration or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a large organization
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a specialization in Fleet Maintenance and machinery sourcing.
Knowledge & Skills
- High proficiency in Ms. Excel
- Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP or Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Project management skills to effectively plan and execute procurement initiatives, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Possession of relevant certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CSCP) or Procurement (CIPS).
- Experience in global sourcing, including knowledge of international suppliers, import/export regulations, and currency exchange considerations.
- Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance with all relevant legal and ethical guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate with various departments such as finance, operations, and fleet to align procurement strategies with organizational objectives.
