Field Supervisor

Role Purpose: The incumbent is responsible for organizing workload, planning tasks, allocating work to labors & Foreman and monitoring team performance, to effectively implement the Operations plan with regards to Cleansing Services and Waste Collection.

Accountabilities: 

• Monitor and ensure the daily collection of general waste, green waste, bulk waste & recyclable waste and maintain the cleanliness of waste bins, tunnels, bus stops, subways and assigned areas & washrooms.
• Monitor sectors and ensure that the tasks allotted to the team leaders and labors are completed before the end of their shift.
• Train the labors on the job and supervise the implementation of cleaning service as per management plan to maintain high standard.
• Conduct toolbox talks to ensure high standards of safety are maintained while performing the regular operations.
• Close notifications and sector complaints within the time limit set by the client (Tadweer KPIs) and update the same to the concerned superior and customer service team.
• Create notifications (waste collection) using the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) device and assign the same to drivers.
• Maintain cordial relationship with local/ public in their area of responsibility and gain a good image for the company by representing in a good manner.
• Register and maintain the daily attendance and overtime data of the team leaders and labors, verify their physical attendance in the sectors / worksite and capture digital attendance data and submit to the administrator.
• Provide initial medical assistance to the labors at times of work-related incidents and report it to the HSE department.
• Distribute the tools and equipment required for daily work among the labors.
• Report the accidents / incidents occurred in the sectors, immediately to the Line Manager and HSE team.
• Report the work-related complaints / issues in the sectors / worksite to the respective operations coordinator.
• Conduct regular meetings with Team Leaders and workers and guide them to achieve consistent performance.
• Maintain healthy relationship with the subordinate and resolve the work-related issues of their team members.
• Regular monitoring of workers behavior and report the negative behaviors to the operations coordinators, request for initiating disciplinary action requests when necessary.
• Requests and ensures that the tools / equipment required for work are arranged and provided to their team members.
• Ensures that the company provided vehicle is used only for work purposes and it is maintained in good condition all the time by the user (Supervisor).

HSE Responsibilities: 

• Ensure compliance to company’s Health & Safety policy & procedures.
• Provide cooperation to the company’s practices with regard to safety, health and welfare at work.
• Not to engage in any improper conduct that could endanger his / her own safety and health or that of anyone else.
• Participate in HSE trainings offered by the company.
• Make proper use of all machinery, tools, substances, etc. and PPEs provided for use at work.
• Report any Near-miss and all accidents and work-related injuries at workplace and any defects in tools, equipment etc., which might endanger the safety and health to the immediate supervisor / manager / HSE representatives.
• Be familiar with the work site emergency and evacuation procedures and evacuation routes.

Job Requirements: 

Experience & Qualification

• Secondary School Certificate / Diploma in any discipline
• 3 – 5 years of experience as Labor / Field / Site supervisor.
• Waste Management industry experience in UAE will be an added advantage
• MSW Waste supervision experience in UAE will be an added advantage
• Must clear / pass the ADQCC conformity assessment for Waste Management as specified by Tadweer – AD, within 6 months of joining the company.
• UAE Light Vehicle Driving License is essential

Knowledge & Skills

• Intermediate Verbal and written Communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of Arabic will be a plus
• Knowledge of Hindi / Urdu will be a plus
• Knowledge of Waste management
• Knowledge of cleaning tools & techniques
• Knowledge of safety at worksite & First Aid
• Supervisory Skills
• Willingness to interact and deal with unskilled workers
